I absolutely adore the amazing healing properties of Calendula. Let me tell you a little about this awesome flower.

Calendula, also known as Calendula officinalis or pot marigold, is a powerful medicinal herb with a long history of traditional use.
Its radiant orange and yellow petals hide a treasure trove of healing properties.
From its soothing and anti-inflammatory effects to its impressive antiseptic and antimicrobial properties, calendula is truly a botanical wonder.

Imagine having a jar of all-natural, homemade calendula salve or serum within arm's reach whenever you need it. (I do! I use it ALL the time).

Want to learn how to make your own calendula serum?
Here's a step-by-step guide to help you create your very own healing concoctions:

Harvesting Calendula:
Begin by cultivating your own calendula plants or sourcing organic flowers.
The best time to harvest calendula is in the morning when the dew has evaporated, ensuring optimal potency.

Drying the Petals:

Gently pluck the petals from the flower heads and spread them in a single layer on a clean, dry surface.

Allow them to air dry in a warm, well-ventilated area until they become crisp and brittle.

Infusing Oils:

Now, grab a glass jar and combine your dried calendula petals with a carrier oil of your choice, like olive or coconut oil. Make sure the petals are fully submerged, seal the jar tightly, and place it in a sunny spot. Let the magic happen as the oil infuses with the potent goodness of calendula over a few weeks.

Creating Salves and Serums:
Once the oil is infused, strain out the petals using cheesecloth.
The resulting herbal-infused oil is the base for your healing salves and serums.
Mix it with beeswax to create a nourishing salve or blend it with other botanical oils for a rejuvenating serum.

Benefits and Uses: Now that you have your own calendula-infused creations, you can use them in any of the following ways:

  1. Skin Healing: Calendula salves and serums are renowned for their skin-soothing properties.
Say goodbye to minor cuts, scrapes, and burns! Calendula salves and serums work wonders by promoting healing and reducing inflammation. They're also perfect for soothing pesky insect bites and sunburn relief (from my own experience).

  2. Moisturization and Nourishment: provide deep moisturization to dry, cracked skin and help soothe conditions like eczema or psoriasis.
The natural emollients in calendula help restore the skin's moisture barrier, leaving it soft and smooth.

  3. Wound Care: Calendula's antimicrobial properties make it an excellent aid in wound care.
Apply the salve or serum to clean, minor wounds to help prevent infection and promote faster healing.
This works wonders on your kids' scraped knees and head bumps.

  4. Gentle Skincare: Want a radiant complexion? Incorporate your calendula-infused serums into your daily skincare routine. The natural antioxidants and skin-regenerating properties of calendula will help you achieve that healthy glow you've always wanted.

Make sure you include planting Calendula in your garden - it's become a staple in mine.
